I’ve been checking out all the sites out their, to do with Parlour, downloading the movies (which I have loads of if anyone wants , just ask), reading the forums etc. for a couple of months now and find it fascinating. ( The Hastings crew are mad, and Danny from Manchester way, (although it is mainly back flips and summersaults ) his roof jumps are insane as are the rest of you. Sebastian and Bella will be come gods in the future, (like Tony harks is to the skater, I suppose) ( I like the Nike ad with the chicken ;D)
Anyway I’m a student at Teesside Uni and have got a chance to do a project that will nationally organize, sponsore and promote this new extreme sport , Parkour.
The course I’m on is ‘Design Marketing’ and for my final project they are letting me invent a new brand of leisure wear, directed towards serious Traceurs who would be keen on buying a product that helped promote their sport, by having 20% of all profits going back into sponsoring training events in leisure centers all around the country. I also intend to design adverts for mags such as Kerrang, sponsor new bands, and set up a web site as well as try to get David Belle to wear one of the final designs on a T-shirt when he’s touring the UK. Which shouldn’t be to far away from what I have been reading. He was in Russia last week.
To do this properly, I need to get as many of your opinions as possible; therefore I need some questions answering about lad’s style, fashion and music in relation to this extreme sport.
I need to know about things like fashion brands that you like and places where you shop and about your music and internet tastes.
What I am asking is to send you a small questionnaire ( I know it sounds boring but It’s would be very helpful) should only take a couple of minutes to complete and I will be forever grateful.
Sick man!
If you could help email me (at) Randall_hew(at)hotmail.com

Just to make you aware. Parkour has no particular style or personality type, I know "chavs", "metalheads","skateborders", martial artists, dancers... who practice parkour. The beauty of parkour also lies in the fact that you dont need anything to do it except for a pair of legs, so trying to push it down the same road as skateboarding isnt a very good idea and not what people want. And about roof jumps... I havent seen "danny" from manchester, but rest assured parkour ISNT about who can jump off the highest building. In answer to your (assumed) questions: Music: Moby, Chicane, Enya, 2PAC, LL, Marilyn Manson, Metallica, Scooter, Placebo, Chilli's, Keane, Dave Peirce/Euphoria, Alicia Keys, Radiohead, Kelis, etc etc Clothes: Baggy, tight, suits, jackets, urban, jeans, beanie, no beanie, trainers, shoes, bootcut, shirts, tshirts,..etc etc, I shop at Next, River Island, Armani, Versace, Phat Face, Krunch, .. Internet: I own 18 domains, hundreds of sites, Parkour, code, security, news, movies, physics, philosophy, horror, blogs, bash, tubgirl, .. whatever I need. As for the whole chav thing. Personally, I cant stand them, but Parkour is an attitude free art and "chavs" have as much right to practice it as anyone else. Also, Parkour isnt a sport, it lacks a competitive element which is really a defining factor of a sport.. its more of an art. Hope this helps

To true biomech ...I cant stop chavs doing parkour and niether should I try, but going on what you said about an attitude free 'sport' ...I have yet to meet some one of chav nature that doesnt think that parkour is just big jumps and, at least the ones i know, seem to allways be competing for the glory and show. So thats where I get my viepoint from. ... any way you own 18 domains, cool, wich coding ones do you have? coding and programming is a major hobby of mine.
ciao.

i realise that Parkour isnt all about big jumps, so point taken, and thanks for your help, I appreciate it. just like to say thanks to all that have helped i've put my final logo and on a website which can be seen at www.TraceurX.co.uktheres a little movie on thier too (just click on Logo page to open up the website and click on VIDEOS i've only mentioned the movie on this site and the (New Veiwers)counter tells me nearly 100 people have veiwed it. i am amazed parkour is for all, and i live for the day i see everyone fluidly moving around town. means they wont be bumping into me ,all the time.lol

i know theres particular trends associated with PK such as style of clothes and music, but i think its far more varied than other extreme sports like BMXing and skating. Any dnb, hiphop, metal, emo, rock goes well with the videos. but also those chilled out tracks they used on the second half of 'Jump Britain' were wicked. Made the videos seem more meaningful and even artistic, but that was probably coz it was on TV. As long as its not chavy chart music.
As far as clothes go, i find whatever u feel most comfortable in works best. It could be anything, as long as it doesnt look too tidy, u dont wanna rip a posh looking top that could of been used to go clubbing in. Colour isnt important. The whole point of PK isn't about being too specific on clothes, style, and taste of music. Its supposed to be something which unites people, uve gotta be careful not to alienate others. What i think it is, is that theres not a lot of correlation between liking PK, and styles. PK is for everyone, which is why there is so much diversity.
oh, yeah, i gree tho, except chavs. They're not allowed.
